Swimmer evaluations, for those who are not sure which program would best suit their swimmer’s needs, will be taking place during the first or second week of afternoon practices.
Lil Rays Registration
The Lil’ Ray program was established for our littlest swimmers who are not yet able to swim a full length of the pool. The primary goal of the program is for the “Lil’ Ray” to have fun while learning to swim and preparing to join the swim team in the future. Our coaches strive to help the older Lil’ Rays to become proficient enough, in at least one stroke, to participate in one of our Monday evening swims meets by the end of the season. Our Lil’ Rays are considered part of the swim team and are encouraged to participate in all swim team events and activities. At the coach’s discretion, swimmers may move up to attend the regular team practices as soon as they become ready.
When you are registering your Lil Ray, you will be asked to select the practice time you prefer based on the following times:
Volunteering
We can’t run any event without volunteers. Hunt Valley Swim Team requires each family to perform 15 hours of volunteer service in team events of their choosing. Parents can sign up for jobs during the registration process or come back to the Swimtopia site later to sign up. Monday Night Meet positions are pending until we know our schedule of Home and Away Meets.
Only families of Lil’ Rays swimmers, with no additional swimmers on the swim or dive team, do not have to meet the 15 hours volunteer requirement.
Below are Key Volunteer positions that are still available for us to run a successful and exciting season. Please consider signing up for any one of these positions during the registration process.
