We’ve got a packed summer schedule full of:
Monday Meets, NVSL dual meets on Saturdays, Relay & IM Carnivals, and All-Star opportunities
Fun social events like team treats/ breakfasts, pep rallies, and team Tuesdays
Coaching tailored to all levels, from beginners to experienced swimmers and divers
Our Lil’ Rays program introduces our youngest swimmers to the water in a supportive, fun-filled environment. The program’s primary goal is for the “Lil’ Ray” to have fun while learning to swim and preparing to join the swim team in the future. Our coaches strive to help the older Lil’ Rays to become proficient enough, in at least one stroke, to participate in one of our Monday evening swim meets by the end of the season. At the coach’s discretion, swimmers may move up to attend the regular team practices as soon as they become ready.
We welcome back our Lil’ Rays Head Coach, Dawson McGill. With patient coaches and teen mentors, Lil’ Rays gain skills and confidence to join the big team in the future.
Full team calendars, meet schedules, coach bios, and volunteer info are posted on our team website.

For those unsure which program would best suit their swimmer’s needs, swimmer evaluations will take place during the first week of afternoon practices. May 26th is first day of afternoon practices. For more information see practices schedule here.
Volunteering
We can’t run any event without volunteers. Hunt Valley Swim Team requires each family to perform 15 hours of volunteer service in team events of their choosing. Parents can sign up for jobs during the registration process or come back to the Swimtopia site later to sign up. Check out our Meet and Events schedule for all volunteer opportunities here.
Only families of Lil’ Rays swimmers, with no additional swimmers on the swim or dive team, do not have to meet the 15-hour volunteer requirement.
Your involvement with the team in any shape or form is much appreciated.
If you have further questions about volunteering, registration, or the season in general, please let us know.
We look forward to seeing new and returning families in the 2026 Swim Team and Lil Rays.
